God of all peoples, give leaders wisdom, humility, and a concern for those most easily ignored. Restrain cruelty, corruption, and deceit. Help our communities seek justice without losing compassion. Make us willing to serve, speak truth, and care for neighbors beyond our own group. Guide us toward peace rooted in what is right. Amen.

Prayer for leaders seeks conditions in which people may live peaceably. It does not require endorsing everything a ruler does.
I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence.
